Three more shot in Papua

Three more people were shot by unidentified assailants on Tuesday night in Jayapura, Papua, kompas.com is reporting.
Iqbal
Rifai, 22, and Hardi Jayanto, 22, were shot in front of the Papua
Transportation Agency, while First. Pvt. Frangki Kune, 25, was shot in
front of Perum Pemda 1 Entrop state employee housing complex.
The
shootings would undermine peace and development in Papua, Coordinating
Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Djoko Suyanto said as
quoted by Antara news agency
“Both the police, with the assistance from the military, should immediately bring the perpetrators to justice,” Djoko said.
The shootings on Tuesday were the most recent in a series of armed attacks in Jayapura, the provincial capital.
Gilbert
Febrian Ma’dika, 16, survived a shot in the back by assailants on a
motorcycle on Monday night, while university student Jimi Ajudh Purba,
19, was stabbed to death on Sunday.
A tourist, German national
Pieter Dietmar Helmut, was shot by an unidentified person on May 29 and
was medevaced to Singapore for treatment.
